I was really excited that Aunt RoxAnne came to see me, Mommy & Daddy this past weekend. We didn't go any where, but Aunt RoxAnne stayed with me while Mommy & Daddy went shopping... I was thrilled to spend time with her, I just wish she could have stayed here a bit longer!

Mommy took this cute picture of me to commemorate my 11th month.

Today I had to go to the doctor because I had a rash all over my feet, legs, tummy and arms, plus I had a fever of 102 and I couldn't keep any solids down. All I wanted to do was lay on Daddy and stare out the window. The doctor said I have a 'viral infection' and told Mommy to give me alternating doses of Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours.

The last couple of days in April, Mommy had to go to Anoka, MN to attend a conference for her job. Grandma Pat met us in Anoka and took care of me while Mommy was in her meetings. I had a lot of fun!!

During my doctor appointment Dr. B looked at Mommy, then back at me and said "you're short for a 15 month old". Then he started to laugh. Later Mommy explained the doctor had made a little joke because I'm only 9 months old. (I'll never understand grown-ups)

I'm 30 inches long and weigh 23 lbs & 7 oz.

The doctor said that I'm actually the perfect weight for my height ... and my height is in the 95th percentile.

I received a very pretty hand woven easter basket that my great aunt, Pauline, made for me. Mommy put all of the easter cards I received in it and placed it up on a shelf that I can't quite reach yet.

I also received a cool sock monkey from G.Aunt Georgia. She sent a letter along with it to share a story about it with us. She wrote that when I was born, Great Grandma Waterman really wanted to give me a sock monkey. She and Georgia searched many stores and couldn't find one. While Georgia was shopping just before Easter she found one and had to buy it for me! It's lots of fun to play with!

I also had fun playing with the bunny blanket that my daycare provider, Lori, hand crocheted for me.

My second tooth broke through the surface a couple days ago! You can't really see it, but it is just to the left of my first tooth (when you are looking at me). I am trying all sorts of new foods, still mostly the mushy baby food - lots of yummy combinations. My favorite combinations have squash in them, but I haven't found one that I don't care for at all ... oh, except for green peas. Mommy doesn't force me to eat them, but she isn't giving up having me try them from time to time either!

I'm eight months old today. The nurses at the doctors office gush all over me every time I'm there, pretty cool, right? Anyway, Mommy took me to the clinic to have my height & weight checked
29 inches (no change from last month, at least I'm not shrinking!)
23 pounds & 8 ounces (gain 4 ounces since last month)

Looks like I will be in my carrier for a little while longer because I'm not 25 pounds yet and Mommy has been reluctant to graduate me to a normal carseat... not sure why, but it might be due to the fact that there are so many to choose from and she just can't seem to make up her mind!

Maybe learning to scream wasn't such a cool thing after all. I'm not sure when I started screaming as a form of fun communication, but today that's all I have been doing since I woke up and I think it is starting to concern Mommy. (She took the day off to take Jessie to the vet and just hang out with me.)

My 2nd long trip

Mommy and I went to Wisconsin to attend the Memorial for Great Grandma Waterman. I got to spend some time with Aunt Roxie, Great Aunt Georgia, Great Uncle Ray & Great Aunt Pauline and I met so many other family members! I was excited to see everyone, but tried to be really quiet because we were in church... (Mommy said that she was very proud me.)

I got to stay with Grandma Pat & Grandpa Jim and I had SO much fun because Grandpa and I watched the races Sunday afternoon!

I can't wait until the next time I get to visit them!!! I love them both very much

My ever changing world

Today Mommy took me to the clinic to get my height & weight at 7 months.
23 pounds 4 ounces (I gained 2.5 pounds over the past month)
29 inches long (I grew 1/2 an inch over the past month)

Mommy started to cry when she discovered that my first tooth broke through today. You can't really see it yet, but it is definitely there!

Teddy has been spending a lot more time around me lately. He's a pretty cool cat because he doesn't run away as soon as I touch him!!!

Here is a video that Mommy took of me & Teddy. I'll bet you will be able to tell just how much I enjoy spending time with Teddy :)

Mommy says that Teddy has not been feeling very well lately. He lost a lot of weight pretty fast and the kitty doctor said that Teddy has a problem with his thyroid. Mommy has to put medicine on the inside of his ear twice a day, which seems easier than trying to give him a pill ... but I don't think he likes having his ears messed with. The kitty doctor is going to test Teddy's thyroid level again in a couple weeks to see if the medication is helping. We all hope it is!

I'm 6 months old, weight 21 pounds 12 ounces & am 28 1/2 inches long! (WOW, I just realized that I grew an inch over the last month!)

Mommy took me to the PictureMe Studio at Wal-Mart to have my 6 month pictures taken. I had so much fun and Mommy said I was really good through the entire session (and she took FOREVER to pick out her favorite poses for the print package)!!

4 month 'Well Baby' appointment

I turned 4 months old while Mommy and I were at Grandma & Grandpa's. I had a fun day, playing in the Mega-saucer that Briget gave me, which was much more fun than the doctor appointment that Mommy had originally scheduled for that day!!!

I didn't get out of going to the doctor though. Mommy took me this afternoon. I had fun with the nurses, getting weighed and measured and generally being fussed over. I got to tour the nurses station with one of them! I even had fun with the doctor who was happy with my progress and assured Mommy that I'm just a big but well proportioned baby. He said that I'm over the 95th percentile for everything.
I weigh 19 lbs, 12 oz
I am 27 inches long
My head is 17 3/4 inches around!
Cool, right??? Yeah, then the nurses came in with needles and the day stopped being fun. I only cried a little bit, but it still hurt.

HUH??? That's what Grandma called it... she said that she read it in a cartoon, a yard had decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas and the home owner said "I'm done decorating for the year, Merry Thanksgivoween" ... It kind of fit too because Grandma had Halloween decorations still up in the family room, some Thanksgiving decorations in the kitchen and had started to decorate for Christmas in the sitting room...

I got to meet G-Uncle Ray & G-Aunt Pauline and cousins Micah, Sarah and their son, Caleb (who is just a couple months older than me) and Katie, Brian and their daughter, Abby (who is a little over a year older than me). I'm still too little to play with them, but Mommy held me and I watched them play with my toys and each other. I got a couple new ideas about crawling, but I'm not ready to try them out yet.

Meeting Great-Grandma Waterman!

Our family had been planning on taking a trip to Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day to spend time with Mommy's side of the family, but yesterday morning our plans changed a little bit. Grandma Pat let us know that Great Grandma wasn't doing very well and was in critical care @ that hospital. Mommy and Daddy talked for quite a while and they decided that Daddy would have to stay home because of work, but it was important to both of them that Great Grandma and I spend time together. Mommy was more than a little frantic as she packed a bag for both of us, bundled me up and said 'bye-bye' to Daddy. I was amazed that she only forgot a couple items (like the camera portion of my baby monitor, her pills and my formula!)

Eight hours is a LONG, LONG time to be trapped in my car seat. Mommy said I handled it very well, but there were a couple times when all I could do was cry ... for almost an hour straight! Mommy really didn't want to stop very often because she wanted to get to the hospital so badly, but she also wanted to take really good care of me! I think the trip was harder on her than it was on me!

Finally we made it to the hospital & everyone got a little teary-eyed when Mommy introduced me to Great Grandma Waterman. I didn't cry, I was happy to meet her and play with the tubes in her hand!!! Mommy propped me up next to G-Grandma and made sure I didn't pull the tubes out (I guess that would have been a bad thing)...
I got to meet G-Aunt Georgia too. She carried me up from the hospital entrance and commented several times about how much heavier I was than she expected!

When we finally arrived at Grandma & Grandpa's farm Mommy put me right to bed and I slept the rest of the night, I was exhausted!

This morning Mommy & I went back to the hospital with Grandma & Grandpa. Everyone was very happy to see that Great Grandma was sitting up and able to talk with everyone. She and I spent quite a bit of time getting to know each other better. She sure is a grand lady. I'm very glad I got to meet her!

After much debate and 'friendly banter' Mommy & Daddy finally agreed on what I get to wear this winter during our various outings. I think I look very handsome in it, but I'm afraid that if either one of them put me down outside they will never find me again!!!

Rolling over for the first time

Today I was laying on the floor, staring at the ceiling. I heard a sound, so turned my head to see where it was coming from. It was a really interesting sound, so I wiggled around until I was laying on my side ... and suddenly I found myself on my tummy!

Daddy was so excited he decided he called Mommy at work to let her know.

It was a Happy Halloween!

Mommy took me with her to visit one of her doctors. Then we stopped by to visit the doctor who delivered me. Everyone was really nice and happy to meet me and they all said I was CUTE!!

After that Mommy and I stopped at the local Salvation Army Thrift Store to drop of 2 boxes of clothes that Mommy said she no longer needed. She said that we might have to make another trip there in a couple months if I keep growing as quickly as I have been...

Then Mommy and I stopped by the office so everyone at Mommy's work could see me in my costume. I had a lot of fun, but it was really tiring! I slept for a bit on the way home, but I was excited to see what we would do next so I didn't sleep very long!

That afternoon, Mommy & Daddy took me to Lori's house, my daycare provider, for a couple of hours while they went out for lunch to celebrate their 2nd wedding anniversary. I didn't wear my costume, but Lori gave me a treat anyway! Lori had made Halloween ornaments and gave me one. Mommy wrapped it carefully and put in away with all the other Halloween decorations so we can use it again next year.
After such a long day, Daddy and I relaxed for a while before all the other kids in the neighborhood started dropping by ... I learned something that I think I'll have to remember for next year... everyone who said "trick or treat" got some candy from either Mommy or Daddy. Cool deal!

Meeting Great-Grandpa Maesner

Today Daddy's grandpa, Don Maesner stopped by just to meet me! He and Jenny were on their way to Chicago. I was pretty excited because I was named after him. Daddy said that he never had many chances to spend time with Maesner, so this was quite a treat!

Great-Grandpa Maesner is a very interesting guy & had stories galore. He made everything sound like a grand adventure!
